Exploring Puglia and Basilicata by bicycle is one of the most authentic and rewarding ways to discover these two regions. A few practical notes before you start planning your ride.
Packing
Pack smart and stay prepared for any conditions by bringing layered clothing, sun protection, a windproof and waterproof jacket, sunglasses, a camera or phone mount for the bike, basic tools for on-trail fixes, personal medication, a small daypack and a reusable water bottle. Your main luggage travels ahead to each nightu2019s accommodation, so thereu2019s no need to overpack.
Bike fitting
Cycling a hundred kilometres on a bike that doesnu2019t fit is an unpleasant experience. When booking, weu2019ll ask for your measurements so we can set up your hire bike as closely as possible before you arrive. On the day of departure, our mechanic will fine-tune saddle height, handlebar reach and other details. If you bring your own bike, we recommend having it serviced before you travel.
Travel insurance
We recommend travelling with insurance that covers active holidays, medical assistance and trip cancellation. Specific requirements may depend on your itinerary and country of residence.
